2. Sub-processors
These companies process personal information on our behalf to run AskTax. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
| Provider | What they do for us | What they receive | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Our database, sign-in and server functions. | Everything we store about you, as listed in the Privacy Policy, and the technical details of each request. | United States: our database is in Amazon Web Services' us-east-1 region (Northern Virginia). Our server functions run in the Supabase region nearest to you and work on that database. |
| Anthropic | Writes the answers (the Claude model). If you use AskTax in English for Spanish, Dutch or Italian law, it also translates your question into that country's language to search the law. | Your question, up to the last ten messages of the same chat, your tax profile and the sources found for your question. Not your email address. | United States; to answer quickly, the model may run on Anthropic's infrastructure in other countries. Anthropic may not train its models on this content and deletes it within 30 days, unless it needs it longer to investigate misuse of its service or the law requires it. |
| Voyage AI | Finds the law that matches your question, by turning its text into numbers that can be compared (an “embedding”). | The text of your question. When you answer a follow-up question, the question it follows too. | United States. Voyage AI deletes the text as soon as it has processed it and does not use it to train its models. |
| Stripe | Card payments on the website. | Your email address and account ID when you start a subscription, and the card and billing details you enter on Stripe's own checkout page: your billing address and, if you buy as a business, your tax ID, which Stripe uses to work out the VAT or sales tax due. We never see your card number. | United States. |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscriptions bought in the apps. | Your account ID (a random identifier, not your email address) and your purchases from the App Store or Google Play. | United States. |
| Apple and Google | Sell and bill subscriptions bought in the App Store or on Google Play. | What they need to take your payment, under their own terms and privacy policies. We only learn whether your subscription is active. | Under Apple's and Google's own policies. |
| Resend | Sends our emails: sign-up codes, sign-in links, the welcome email, and the confirmations of a website subscription and of a withdrawal from one. | Your email address and the content of the email. | A US company; our emails are sent from its Ireland (EU) region. Resend keeps sent-email data for 30 days. |
| Vercel | Hosts the website. | The requests your browser makes to the website, including your IP address and browser type. | United States: the website's server code runs in Vercel's Washington, D.C. region. Pages are delivered from the Vercel server nearest to you. |
| Google (sign-in) | Sign in with Google — only if you choose it. | Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. Google learns that you use the service. | Under Google's own policies. |
OpenAI does not receive your information today. Our code can use OpenAI's embedding service in place of Voyage AI; if we switch, we will update this list first.
3. Your data
Download it
On the website or in the app, go to Account → Download my data. You get one file (JSON, a common format other services can read) with:
- your account: its ID, email address, when it was created and confirmed, when you last signed in and how you sign in;
- your tax profile;
- your consent records: each document and version you agreed to, when, where and the browser or app you used;
- your subscriptions: where you bought them, their status, billing periods, when access ends, whether they renew and until when you can withdraw;
- any withdrawal from a website subscription: when you asked, the days used, the refund and when we confirmed it;
- your fair-use usage for this billing month and the last hour, with the counts behind them;
- every chat, with every question and answer — each answer marked as written by AI, with the model that wrote it.
You can download it once every 10 minutes. It leaves out the identifiers that link your account to Stripe and RevenueCat and the raw billing notices they send us; ask support@styleupp.com if you want those too.
Delete it
Go to Account → Delete account, on the website or in the app. It works even if you have not agreed to updated terms. It:
- cancels a card subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period — if you are in the EU or EEA and subscribed less than 14 days ago, withdraw first (Account → Withdraw from contract here) to be refunded for the unused days;
- then deletes your account, tax profile, chats and answers, consent records, subscription status, usage counts and the link to your Stripe customer record.
A subscription bought in the App Store or on Google Play is billed by Apple or Google, and only you can cancel it — in the store, before or after deleting your account. Deleting your account does not stop the store billing you.
Some things stay for a while (see “How long we keep information” in the Privacy Policy): the short record of each billing notice, database backups (up to 7 days), the text our AI providers have processed (Anthropic: up to 30 days), sent emails at Resend (30 days), and the records Stripe, RevenueCat, Apple and Google keep under their own policies.
Anything else
To correct your email address, ask what we hold, object to how we use it, or anything else, write to support@styleupp.com from the email address of your account.
5. Withdrawing from a subscription
Consumers in the EU and EEA who subscribed on the website can withdraw within 14 days: use “Withdraw from contract here” on the Account page, email support@styleupp.com, or send the model withdrawal form. The Terms of Use explain how it works.
6. Points of contact and reporting illegal content
For authorities (the European Commission, the Digital Services Coordinators of EU countries and other authorities): support@styleupp.com. We accept messages in English and Czech.
For users of AskTax: support@styleupp.com, in English, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, German or Czech. A person reads and answers every message.
Reporting illegal content. AskTax does not publish anything: each person's chats are visible only to them. If you nevertheless believe AskTax holds or shows illegal content, email support@styleupp.com with why you think it is illegal, where it is (a link or a description), your name and email address, and a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete. We confirm that we received it, decide on it carefully and without undue delay, and tell you what we decided and why.
